Lindsay & Kristin | Exquisite couples love session in Paris
This was an exquisite couples love photo session at the Louvre and Eiffel Tower in Paris. I was contacted by a lovely young woman named Lindsay about a photo session in Paris for she and her wife, Kristin, during a business trip they were taking to Paris. Lindsay and Kristin live in the northeast of the United States, in Massachusetts and from the moment my eyes caught glimpse of them at our meeting point at the Eiffel Tower, I knew I was in for a treat.
First, there’s the obvious. They were both dressed beautifully. As an English speaking Paris couples photographer, specializing in honeymoons, engagements and anniversaries, I’ve seen some pretty sharp dressed people over the years, but Lindsay and Kristin took it to another level. They each wore stunning gowns you might see at the Oscars, with Lindsay wearing a deep blue gown and Kristin a stunning deep red gown. They also paid great attention to details, from their earrings, to their pendants, and their shoes. Lindsay’s shoes were some of the cutest I’ve seen. Yes, that may be awfully girlie of me, but Paris is the world’s capital of fashion and as a Paris photographer, when I have the opportunity to photograph such a well dressed couple, well it’s a bit like Christmas for me. It’s really important to dress to impress for your Paris photo session, because the the photos will be so much prettier and memorable when you toss on your favorite dress, gown, pantsuit–what have you, and Lindsay and Kristin dressed perfectly.
So far, this article is top heavy on looks. How they looked. Yes, as a Paris photographer, I do focus on the details, which includes how a couple looks, but there was so much more to this couple than what you see from their external beauty. I learned that Lindsay is a family practice physician and Kristin is a nurse practitioner, and that they met at work. They fell in love, and got married in a castle in Gloucester, Massachusetts in 2015. From the beginning, Lindsay told me that had been “easy” with Kristin, no games, like unfortunately, some people deal with in relationships. Easy going, fun, love, and I felt this love the entire time I was photographing this stunning couple.
There was something so very special and elegant about the way they carried themselves, the way they interacted with each other. It’s an intangible quality I can’t quite describe, but it was simply delightful spending the morning with them. I learned that they love to travel and we spoke about places we’d been and places we’d love to go.
We also spoke about our families back in the United States, and our pets. Of course, being Lindsay and Kristin’s first time to Paris, I also shared as much as I could about the city. Not just the tourist information about Paris, but sharing what life is like in Paris as well.
A beginning at the Eiffel Tower and ending at the Louvre
Originally, Lindsay planned for a one-hour photo session at the Eiffel Tower. But after speaking with Kristin, they decided they’d like to go to another location as well, and we settled on the Louvre and Tuileries Gardens next door, for the second half. When in Paris, especially your first time, you must be photographed at the Eiffel Tower. After all, what says love and romance in Paris more than the Eiffel Tower? But after that, I think it’s so important if you have time in your day to go to another Paris location, because Paris is so beautiful and there are so many other romantic spots to see and where I love photographing couples in love like Lindsay and Kristin.
The ladies had brought a change out of outfits with them, so we changed at a hotel near the Eiffel Tower and then hopped in a taxi to go to the Tuileries Gardens. Now full into autumn, the flowers are starting to wind down for the season, but the fall leaves are beautiful. I love photographing the crispy leaves in the Tuileries Gardens in autumn. Keeping the same color theme, Lindsay and Kristin changed into dressed that were still stylish, but a bit shorter and more tailored. I loved photographing them in the garden, and then set against the magnificent architecture of the Louvre Museum. It was a great ending to a beautiful morning.
Lindsay and Kristin inspired me with their love, their tenderness, their care, and their “wow factor”. It was such a treat to meet them and photograph them, and I can only hope that I’m fortunate enough to meet them again someday and have the treat of photographing them again!
