Arianna & Juliana | Sweet Eiffel Tower Surprise Proposal
As a Paris surprise proposal photographer, I’ve witnessed so many gorgeous surprise proposals in Paris. Each and every couple is super special to me! To be able to help plan and guide the person proposing is an honor, and to meet the person being proposed to after the engagement is also a thrill. How many times in life do you have a front row seat to two people experiencing extreme joy, happiness and love? It’s the very best, and why I love my career as a professional photographer in Paris and throughout France.
Arianna is from my old home, the wonderful state of California. She contacted me to plan a surprise proposal in Paris, where it was her wish to ask the love of her life, Juliana, to spend their lives together as a married couple, with Paris as the backdrop.
There was something about Arianna from the start. I think I’m a really good judge of character, and my communications with Arianna told me that she was sweet and kind and caring. I had such a good feeling about her as a client, and couldn’t wait for the big moment.
I did become a bit fearful though, there was rain in the forecast for the big day. I was worried how two Californians would do in the Paris rain. The truth is that a Paris surprise proposal in the rain is even more romantic, and because it rains so much in Paris, it’s difficult to avoid. All you can do is bring along an umbrella, a clear one is preferable. I contacted Arianna to discuss the rain and she wasn’t fazed at all. Her concern was becoming engaged, and rain or shine, she was focused on it and happy about it. I loved that!
The good news then, is to never worry about the rain in Paris. It’s best to embrace it, and don’t ever let a little thing like rain ruin your big moment!
Finally, the big moment arrived. Arianna chose a morning proposal, and one of the very best locations in Paris with a view of the Eiffel Tower, along the Seine River. It was indeed raining, not heavy rain, but light showers. I got into place and watched the action, and I have to say, it was one of the most impressive surprise proposals I’ve ever witnessed.
Why? Well, Arianna took Juliana in her arms, and then twirled her around. At the end of the twirl she ended up on one knee. I was astounded. It was like watching a ballerina in action! It was so pretty, and Juliana was stunned! Beams of joy filled their faces, and I was there to capture it.
Then, I introduced myself and spent a little while longer this gorgeous couple for a mini engagement session. The feeling I got being around them was one of pure sweetness, kindness, incredible joy, and incredible love. They’d found each other, they have found that one person in life to share everything, and here they were, now engagement in Paris.
It was so sweet, and I felt so blessed to meet them, as if I’d known them a very long time. Their love story gives us all hope that love is pure, and worth it, and especially in Paris, where the monuments, parks and gardens and grand architecture is so inspiring.
