Photo sessions during the Paris Olympics 2024

As you may be aware, for the first time in 100 years, Paris will be hosting the Summer Olympic Games from July 26 to August 11. Then, beginning August 28 and through September 8, Paris will welcome the Paralympic Games. It’s set to be a busy and exciting summer in the City of Light!

Given how many people will be visiting the city during this summer, and that many of the events will be happening right in the heart of the city, its been communicated that there will be areas restricted for spectators only, which includes some of the area around the Eiffel Tower. While it’s still unclear which views of the Eiffel Tower will be available for photography, it’s safe to say it will be greatly restricted during the Olympic Games. It’s expected after the conclusion of the Paralympics in early September, access will re-open and we’ll happily resume photographing around the Eiffel Tower as normal. There are quite a few vantage points of the Eiffel Tower to choose from.

But what if you really want photos with the Eiffel Tower during the Olympics? Your best bet is to book a room with a view. There are many hotels with terraces, such as the Shangri-La, so you can consider this when booking your travel.

Paris is still a gorgeous city, regardless of the Eiffel Tower, and while I know most people come to Paris to see and be photographed with this iconic symbol of Paris, there’s many more locations within Paris for gorgeous photos.

So, if we can’t go to the Eiffel Tower, where else could we go?

The Louvre Courtyard

The iconic architecture of the Louvre Museum is one of my clients’ favorite places to be photographed. It’s a must for fans of architecture and history.

Notre Dame & Ile St Louis

The Cathedral of Notre Dame is also a favorite, and despite the fact that construction work to repair it from the 2019 fire is ongoing, there are still pretty views of it from the front. Also, we’re on Ile St Louis, one of the cutest parts of Paris. Think cobblestone streets, and old world charm!

Montmartre

One of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris, the charming village on the hill with the white Sacre Coeur Basilica, Montmartre is about as charming as Paris gets. You also have unbelievable views of the city from Montmartre, plus, a distant view of the Eiffel Tower. You can see the landmark from there, however, it’s good to note it doesn’t photograph that well for portrait photography (but I try anyway!).

Marais

The Marais is an historic and upscale neighborhood on the Right Bank of the Seine River, that has lots of wonderful spots for Parisian charming photos! Filled with interesting shops, art galleries, and quaint narrow streets, it’s super charming!

Canal St Martin

In the 10th district of Paris, you’ll find a bit if a hipster neighborhood compared to other parts of Paris. Surrounding the pretty canal, you have super cute shop and cafes. If you ever saw the movie “Ameilie”, you’ll recognize this neighborhood. It’s super trendy with an edge, it’s where all the cool kids hang out.

Paris Gardens

Both Luxembourg Gardens and the Jardins des Plantes are beautiful places for photography, and I love photographing couples there in the summer! Of course, you also can’t count out the Tuileries Gardens. There are many garden options!

But what if none of these appeal to you?

Then, I suggest you use this time to see something else of France. As amazing as Paris is, it’s an international city and getting out of Paris you’ll see and learn much more about France as a country, meet kind people, and see some amazing sites! The good news is, I also photograph couples in other parts of France.

Like what? For example:

Nice

The capital of the French Riviera, Nice is a splendid city to visit if you like sun, sea and colorful buildings with the whole Riviera at your doorstep! Trains to Nice leave from Paris and take around 6 hours, and there are flights to Nice in about an hour and 10 minutes. Read more about my Nice services here.

Provence

In addition to living in Paris, I also live in Provence. Provence is a large region of southern France, famous for its lavender fields, olive groves, amazing wines, gorgeous nature–it’s a region that has it all and you’re sure to fall madly in love with it! I’m based in the old Roman city of Arles, an hour north of Marseille and just 20 minutes from Avignon. It takes around 3 1/2 hours to get to Marseille from Paris and around 2 1/2 hours to get to Avignon on high speed train (TGV).

I love to show couples around my darling town of Arles, or meet my couples in Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Nîmes, Saint Remy de Provence, Gordes, Les Baux de Provence and many other beautiful places. The only problem with visiting Provence is you may not want to go home! Learn more about my Provence services here.

Lyon

Lyon is the gastronomic capital of France, and is a mere 2 hour train ride from Paris. Lyon is ridiculously charming, with great food, and tons of things to do. You can learn more about Lyon here

Alsace (Strasbourg & Colmar)

If you fancy yourself in a fairy tale, then just get yourself to Gare de l’Est, the train station in Paris and head to the incredible region of Alsace. In just 2 hours, you’ll be transported back in time. One part of Germany, you’ll see quaint old homes in German style, savor amazing food and beer, and have the time of your lives. To learn more about Alsace, visit this site.

Of course, I can photograph you in any one of these amazing places!
